Message 🌅 Hope

«There is a dimension within you that no pain has ever reached. It was always there. It always will be.»

Reflection

Can you remember a moment in your life when, despite the pain, you felt something within you remained intact?

Going deeper

There came a point when Abraham Maslow grew tired of a psychology that only looked at what breaks. He wanted to study what flourishes too, so he began listening to people who described moments of unexpected fullness: awe, gratitude, the sense of being exactly where they belonged. He called them peak experiences. What stands out is that they didn't happen only to mystics or exceptional people. They turned up in kitchens, in the middle of a song, while watching a child sleep.

Later in his life, Maslow spoke of self-transcendence: the experience of belonging to something larger than the self. Transpersonal psychology grew from that intuition, and it holds something simple and deep: a person is more than their symptoms, their history, and the roles life hands them. Pain is real and deserves every bit of respect. But it is not the whole of who you are, and it is not the final word.

Think of any rainy afternoon. Your mind is crowded with errands and worries, you put the kettle on for tea, and for a second you hear the water start to bubble and watch the steam rise. Something settles. No worry has been solved, yet in that instant there was someone larger than the worry, looking at it calmly. That wasn't a distraction. It was a glimpse of a depth that was always available.

You don't need any particular belief to recognize it. It's enough to treat those small moments as clues rather than coincidences, as signs that there is a space in you wider than whatever is happening to you. Maybe the point isn't to conquer that dimension, but to stop forgetting that it already lives in you. What might change in your day if you carried that awareness today, even quietly in the background?
